Chop chop fun!

 We have a new Japanese steak house and I've never been to one where they do all the fun chopping and flames right at your table. These guys work there buns off, food flying and eggs chopped open in the air, plus all the tables around us going on at the same time. It was so much fun! The big guy which you can't see here at the table next to us was so loud and man could he tell jokes. We laughed like crazy     but the poor babies at the table were scared to death of this guy and started to cry. And he didn't stop so the mother had to take both of them out to the front. She came back after explaining to them what he was doing and they sat clinging to mom and dad but watching between there fingers. To cute.

 Our man here was new after 2 years training and kept bungling but everyone at the table was very good to him and we would make jokes and so he started too. Once he got going he did great and we all had fun.

 My husband was a little bored because he's been around this all his life, his father is Portuguese and he grew up in Hawaii. And being an army brat he has lived all over the world. But in spite of this me and my son had a great time.

I'm probably the only one that hasn't been to one of these places but it's nice to get out and experience something different.

 There are some T.V. shows running all day and night with all new photo's and facts we have not heard before. One show is about the photographers that were there that day, professional and ameture and they are all new photo's along with some seen before. Fascinating facts of the people who helped out that day like all the boats non commercial that came to the peoples aide. Also they have a show on how the FAA handled all those planes. How other countries came to our aide and there were many!

 I watched 911 shows for about 2 years after it happened and then I could not watch anymore, they kept showing the same old horror and quite frankly it was to depressing for me to watch. This year I decided to start watching them again and I'm glad I did. There different with much more facts. I pray for all those who lost a loved one on this fateful day. We cannot bury ourselves under the covers again, Wake Up Again America!!!!!

To have or not to have?

I'm an avid Pinterest person and I see all these beautiful things and think, "Oh I wish I had that in my two year old house" I fought for a farm house sink like this one they had so many gorgeous designs, but no Mr. Nice Guy says "we can't afford that" all the the process of building. While I did not get the farm sink I did get two very deep sinks and I love them. See the posts standing on the side of the sink? I laid the law down and said "I know they are a hundred a piece I will buy them my self" so I bought them and the carpenter my father hired had no idea what he was doing and he inset them? I should have  got him a picture and diagrams on how to do it, needless to say if he redid them, well it would ruin the cabinets. I ended up not complaining to my father because he wanted to build me a perfect house. So I make do with them the way he did. I still say I should put him on "Angies List" though. Oh the horrors this man did to my house. Mr. Nice Guy says "oh forget it we will just go with it?) (I'm still screaming in my head-MEN!)

Wouldn't it be fun to own one of these? A bun warmer, is that 3 ovens?, room for the salt and pepper, melt butter sitting on top! Oh the possibilities......And also I wish we would have put in a walk in pantry like you see on Pinterest just close the doors and its all hidden, and I've always loved hidden rooms like in castles and Victorian Homes as a girl I always loved old house's and there nooks and crannies. Well I may not get them in this life but maybe in my next? But I'm just sure they have them in Heaven so I can wait :)

Determination is her game!

This was several years ago when I was teaching my Granddaughter how to be her own artist. She spent   hours creating and had a ball. She is now a very creative artist and still spends hours creating. Her Mom and her Mother have been there also to help her along. Now she and I are teaching little brother to do the same and he loves it just as much. They certainly keep Grammy on her toes and they are my inspiration. Hope you all are doing well and you are enjoying your summer!

New Blogs!!!!!!!

I really like this idea, I have so many little plates that I have collected through the years and I want to show them off. It's not a new idea I realize but I think it is timeless. I believe the credit goes to Mason Douce she has such a brillant home. Very cottagy if that's a real word? It's very hot today in Washinton on the west side, 95 degrees. I wait until sundown and go out on the balcony and its just right with a slight breeze. Ah the days of summer. So what's up with all of you? I just wanted to let you know that I have some new wonderful links on my sidebar, my favorite is "The Galloping Gardner" she goes all over the world and photographs them. So many different ideas here, it's worth the look. Send me One or Two of your favorite blogs please I need to see some new sites and would love your help!

Things Are Looking Up!!

 Summer decided to rear it's head finally about a week ago, everything is blooming and looking pretty.

The neighbors after 2 years :/ decided to put there yard in, so nice not to have the dirt blown in your summer picnics. And once they got started they haven't stopped, they have a small stream running through the back of the chairs here on the other side. There now buying plants on sale and they bring a half a truck load home a day. They have lost some but so far most are doing beautifully.

My usual look out the side door next to the vacant lot, which I don't think they will ever sale. Fine by me, we let the dog go out there and then bury his packages. As you can see the house's are popping up everywhere.

 The canyon to the left of the balcony and the hill top. Still have plenty of sage brush if any of you want to buy some, I will gladly ship it to you!

 

The Mansion across the way is slowwwly coming along, he has been bulding it for 2 years. You see the two garage doors? there is another in the side here that looks like a house window, then you drive to the lower level in back where the whole bottom is a garage to store a huge travel trailer. It's going to be a stunner when he ever finishes it. We just want him to get his concrete driveways done and landscape so we don't have sand wipe outs on the road coming up.

 My backyard before I took all the sage brush out, we pushed it back as our lot goes in deep on this hillside. Eventually I want to grow just wild flowers. The birds just love it and have stayed after hatching there babies. With the brush gone we can watch them better and its a real joy!

More houses on the left but need more! Glad to be back posting, I hope your all doing well and having  blessed summer! Hugs, Pearl

Just popped in to let you know I'm still here and saying Helloooo! We officially have no summer yet so I'm antiquing as usual. And a little redecorating inside the house, playing with the grand kids and watching a coyote coming up to steal bird eggs. I had let my pup "Baby" go outside on his own and play in the yard not 1 hour before :/ we have not seen any last summer so I thought they were gone. Apparently they are hungry so he is now on a leash. I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

I have the best time on Pinterest and facebook so my blog is really neglected. So I'm taking a break this summer and concentrating on family and a few other things. But I will view yours because I love my buddies and what there up to so I will comment. Have a great summer everyone!

What a incredible day we had, we mowed the lawn to short so its not as green as it once was but it was so long. It's as green as the neighbors here. I had the Grand kids over and we got the slip and slide out and the balls and played for hours, Then we had our lunch picnic style. I have so many pots that need planting but I went by our local centers and they were packed so I said to myself I'll go Monday when no one is there. Tonight shrimp out on the balcony! Vici (AKA ) Jake put this post up about foot balm so I wanted to add my two cents worth. This unit in the picture is called a Coutahe (incorrect spelling) which you can get at most Beauty Salons. It consists of a very sharp blade that once it is in the handle it is made to not cut you and you just glide it along your heel and it takes off all the dead skin. That way I don't have to go to a pedicurist and waste my time. Because I hate to wait for anyone, no patience capeesh?


These are actual strips I've taken off of skin. First soak your feet in a small tub for about 10 or 15 minutes to soften heels, toes etc. And just go over and over your feet tilting your blade very flat against skin and watch your feet fall into the tub of water. Talk about shedding! Then hop over to Jakes and see the picture of the (Flexitol Healing Balm) and then you can keep up on those dry feets! I'd show a picture of my feet but honey it would frighten you, as I have had my two big toenails removed cause I had fungus amungas. I'm cured but ugh!
