How To Make Your Own Cloche

I have spent so much time hunting for cloches for my cake plate stands that I was ready to scream! why because there so expensive. Then one day while searching on the greatest tool on earth (Internet) I ran across this tutorial. http://dollarstorecrafts.com/ and the rest is history! Brilliant and cheap idea.

I went to the dollar store and picked up my dish, now this one is not completely see through but for me it was perfect.

I found a great door knob for 50 cents and started gluing with Gorilla Glue. Tip: use a Popsicle stick to glue and use very little glue. I just tap it on and hardly use any glue at all. This stuff works so well. The end result was my desert plate with glass stem and I'm loving it.

Tyvek Fun

I decided to pull out my Tyvek paper that I made eons ago and play today. I found these great flowers at Hobby Lobby tonight there acrylic and made by Prima. These are the little Nichol folder pouches I just made a template out of one. I'm going to see an old friend soon and thought I would put something special in it for her. I just used acrylic paints, one with gold/bronze shimmer and the other orange. I added a piece of lace and the flower and that's it, I love making paper out of Tyvek it's so versatile and has these wonderful veins running through it. It's something I'll do with my Granddaughter this summer when we can do it outside because I like to do a bunch at a time and it's messy.

More antiques and a Christmas gift

My sister got me this door knob from "Hallmark" you turn the handle and it plays a tune. Love it! You can put it on a wall like they suggest but that's just boring to me, so it's going on my craft door. It looks so great with the wood grain, thanks sis.

I put some of my favorite fabric on the back wall of my cabinet. Fun!

The bottom is this great black & rose pink scarf I found years ago.

I Sure Miss These Guys!

I'm still hooked on "T.C.M" I just watched "Our Gang" which was a silent film from around 1927, I had never seen a silent one before? Just a bunch a kids in an old lot playing around and it was hilarious. The simplicity of it was so captivating it kept me giggling all the way through. I'm into laughter these days because "laughter is the best medicine" and that is my drug of choice. Then I went on line and found this link to all the cast members. http://picking.com/og-bios.html it was interesting and sad to see how some died young but others went on to have wonderful long lives.

And a couple of weeks ago I got around to watching "Nanny Mc Phee" I never see movies when they first come out, you won't find me in a movie theatre. To noisy and loud and well I would get frustrated and throw popcorn at people. I loved this movie the costumes were so fun with lots of bright colors and the backdrops and scenes were so well done. It was really cute and entertaining.

Not One Darn Thing To Post About

I'm so tired that all I can do is hope that I will be doing this soon!

Trevin was having so much fun with all his new Christmas surprises he's showing off his new binoculars to Grammy.

Here's Brandon laughing about the bacon press I got him, he loves to cook on high and I just threw out a frying pan that he ruined. So I told him I was going to get him a bacon press so he could learn to cook on low and get that bacon done quick, he had never heard of a bacon press before. Live and learn

Here's my oldest son Tye holding up the hunting display case I we got him, he's an avid hunter and has a hunting room so this will go perfectly in there. He can open the back and put his own hunting picture inside. He loved it.

My Mother and my sisters Mother-in-law scratching off there Christmas scratch tickets to see if they won the million we all dream of. :)

My Dad showing off his new plaque my sister got him. It says "Grandkids Welcome Parents by Appointment" We all had a great laugh over that one.

Mom & I whipping up the cream for her famous desert salad. My Granddaughter wanted to try it and she said "You have to promise me that we will have this every year Grammy" I promise little one.

Our new addition to the family "Deegan" this is his first Christmas and he was loving my "Baby" poodle. His Mom spiked his hair to keep it out of his eyes, it was so cute.

And as all Christmas's it was all a blur and over way to fast.

To all My Blogging friends and family and to all who stop here I hope his birth the true meaning of Christmas brings you tons of joy!

I watched my favorite show today "A Christmas Story" giggling all the way through, Then "Rebbecca of Sunny Brook Farms" with Shirley Temple came on and oh how I miss that sweet little girl. When I was growing up I watched all her movies and loved her singing and dancing. Now that was one talented little girl, when she started tap dancing in her cute little outfits with her adorable dimple she brought such joy to all us little girls in the house. And of course being some what older I watched with new eyes. The house was filled with all the old Antiques and Vintage I just love, and would gladly give up my home to live in a small old house like this one. The ladies dresses were marvelous and the men so dapper. It takes you back to such simpler times.....

Thoughtful Friends

I Cherish my friends in Blog land even at this busy time of year thinking of the last gift to pick up and the last kid to pick up at the airport and on and on. Someone will take the time to think of a blog buddy and send them a little something special in the mail. I received this beautiful card today in the mail and it just brightened my day.

Fudge and other secrets

I got to spend some time with my Grand kids tonight, there Mom was making fudge and they took me upstairs to watch a movie (cartoon) and we did not watch much because they get so excited jumping on me and playing. Little stinkers I just love it, then they had to show me there early Christmas present from Kathy the gram from Portland. Kathy got them a regular Christmas book that had really cool pictures that pop out when you move the book and she put her own CD in it with her reading the story to them. Just like "Hallmarks" expensive book, now that's one smart Grandmother. We got to color and put stickers in there books and it was fun. I even got to lick the spoon from there Mothers Fudge. It's so good. Of course the babes are having sweet dreams of Christmas dancing in there heads. (I can't wait) I don't know who is more excited them or me?
