What a day again with 102 degrees out side. Thank the heavens I can stay home and keep inside with the air on. I was just snapping away with the new camera to get to know it, it's a little complicated but I'm working on it. It's a Nikon with 15 x zoom which is wonderful I can zoom in real close and get really good pictures.

I got some new birds to put outside on my house there Quail and we have a family of them in our back yard. I was watching them and there must be six babies so cute coming up to get a drink of water on our lawn. I had just watered so they were real happy.

I love this painting I found it at a flea market, hand painted and just gorgeous.

I moved my armoire and it makes my bedroom so much larger, I love this piece. That's it just hot and boring as hell.

Fun In The Sun, With A Tired Old Lady

Today was a special day for Alexis & Grammy Pearl, I had both grand kids the other day and all they did was fight so I took them home at the end of a long day. Today Is mine and Lexi's day and tomorrow will be brothers special day. So we started off the day driving to Grammy's special JuJu place (that's Granita in adult language) then off to the store to find some new toys cause I'm tired of hearing "Grammy you need new toys these are baby toys" first we got Ariel and she goes in the pool or bath.

Then of course we had to be princess's with flashing microphones, crowns, sashes, glitter lip gloss, rings and septors. We were so glittery beautiful people and Alexis made up a song for us it goes like this "I'm a rockstar girl and I am a rocking girl and it's Alexis and Grammy!!" that's all I can remember......

Well I did It.....

I ran out and bought a new camera and walked up the street just around the corner and took pictures of my Fathers (76 yrs.) new home he built to sell. It's so pretty just about 2,300 sq. ft. just right for a young family or a couple retiring.

The back porch is long and just right, the door that is open is off the master bedroom and the one closer is off the dining room. The set of windows is the living room, all the windows are low and big.

It's not finished yet and I wish the light was better and if it was clean these are beautiful hardwood floors. The is the dinning room with a built in hutch and off to the left is the kitchen.

From the dinning rm looking into the living rm. I love the windows on either side of the fireplace. No lights yet so picture taking is not at it's best. Well were getting ready for tonight's party to celebrate the 4th. so gotta go! Have fun you all.

Remember there is no way you can look as bad as that person on your drivers license.

Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

Wow what a day we have had, its just so nice for a change to be able to go out and enjoy our balcony with out wind. We barbecue almost every night even when it's snowing. But something is very different up here?? It all changes in a heart beat...

Too all the Fathers out there I salute you! Every day you go to work to feed your families then you come home in your best suit and help to feed the kids and wonder what the heck did I get myself into? I love you Dad!

Nothing, nothing, and still nothing......

Pretty picture of handmade flowers, it's a pity it's not my picture. My camera is still broke and why do I think I can't blog without pictures anyway. Well because I can't that's why I like pics to look at so I can dream. That's why I visit people mostly to drool and wish I had that! I'm busy with company so that's nice and we have big plans for Fathers Day, a barbecue with beans, potato salad, hamburgs, hot dogs, tri-tip, and it's Graduation time for my nephew Josh also from Collage! With honors I might add- one smart cookie let me tell ya.

Oh if only I had it to do all over again~I would have gone to collage and traveled the world, become a acting star! I would have blown away the competition, anybody else out there thought of becoming a star? Are there any agents reading this?? I'm here just give me a call and we'll do lunch! My feet are shot so walking long is out of the question, I wonder if they have motor scooters that will take you to the great wall of China? Just thinking....

I'm tired of my husband and son hogging the T.V. so I went out and bought my own 23" one and it has everything, you wave your hand by the bottom and on the screen pops up the menu to tune everything. It automatically adjust for light, it's LCD, HDTV, and when you yell at it, it yells back. (just joshing you, you knew that right? ooookay) Now I need to find me a little lounge chair to put in my little room, I have to be comfortable ya know with both poodles in my lap. I'm by a window so I just might start smoking in the house again! No I can't go back to that stink and it gets into everything! and ruins your crafts and then I smoke way to much. I like taking breaks from T.V. and now that I can pause T.V. with "Direct" I'm in Heaven. It's funny I will pause to go out to have a smoke but then I see weeds and start pulling them and of course the pups go with me and I have to throw the ball and by the time I get back to the boob tube I totally forgot what I was watching?? But then its such a nice surprise that I'm happy again, dementia can be fun sometimes (heh). Anyway time to watch my favorite show "Nurse Jackie" talk at you later. P.S. Life Is Good!

Getting Ready For Estate Sell......

I went to my sisters shop where we are setting up for the sale and thought I might show you some of this haul. This is only one shot of the numerous pictures that we have. Some are "Home Interiors" some had painted oils and a few that are carved wood.

These are the hand carved ones, aren't they great!

And of course those annoying collectibles from the 60s & 70s, I do love the basket though I was at this old women's ceramic shop one day and it was put high on a shelf and it was so well done I asked her about, she said she had made it years ago. I asked if I could buy it and she said "that old thing!" and she only charged me $4 for it. I would keep it but it is light peach and cream and I'm not into the color anymore. So someone else can enjoy it.

This is handmade by my girlfriends father (who has passed) he was really into wood working and did beautiful work. She has so much of it that she's ready to part with some of it.

He made all sizes of bowls and they are beautiful and in all types of wood, myrtle, oak, mahogany, and some have inlaid wood. He also made the clocks too.

Hurricane lamps

Old bottles and baby shoes in bronze. I cannot believe all the bronze shoes you find in collectible shops. This one if you make the picture larger looks like a very old shoe.

We love old chairs and have way to many so we are parting with them. I love this old cane table and wished I had some where to put it but alas....

A baby cradle and more chairs, another cane piece and Jaci's father made the lamps too.

Some of my pieces and the old table on rollers is my sisters. I can't wait to get rid of it all so we can make some money and quit having to store it all, oh yeah to buy new old stuff :)

And this is just the start of it we still have the big pieces of furniture coming. When will we get it done? Lord only knows? P.S. after just shooting some of these pictures I dropped my camera and broke the lens aaaaahhhhhhh! I live by my camera hope it can be fixed.

I Have A Confession To Make....

"I am a container pot gardener this year" We have officially run out of money for awhile anyway, I go to my girlfriends to pull weeds and help plant at least that is something. I have to have my hands in dirt! I love the smell and getting all muddy it's in my bones that's the gift God gave me. I had to put all my pots under the balcony so they could grow and not get killed by wind. That's better then nothing!

The center is done with alcohol inks and the face is a broken CD scruffed up so alcohol inks will stick and then just stamp it.
